First and foremost, I must thank my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, for blessing me with the gift of inspiring others and the talent of writing and the knowledge and ability to broaden my skills in learning new things that will allow me the opportunity to assist others in their growth and success!
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” –Philippians 4:13
With that being said I would like to give you a little history on who I am and how I chose to start this company. Throughout my life, I have always exhibited a positive attitude and a tremendous outlook on life. I believe whole heartily that there are no obstacles that I cannot conquer. With numerous accomplishments, I know that I can achieve anything that I set out to do in life. The only requirement is to believe in me and have the determination to strive to achieve my goals.
Throughout my life, I have experienced many adversities, tragedies, and even death, yet I use those experiences to shape my life by looking at them as just another stepping stone on life’s rugged path. This attitude allows me to strive to become better, continually learning new things, and improving my ability to be an inspiration to others.
I experienced my first tragedy at the very young age of seven as I watched my stepfather being murdered right before my eyes, as I stood there looking on in terror, I couldn’t move, I was frozen in shock. Two men had broken into our family’s home to rob us, but what they did was much worse. They brutally raped my mother and shot my stepfather once right through the heart, all because he was going to help my mother. His last words were, “Fredia, call the police I’ve been shot!” Then his body heaped over and blood was spewing everywhere. That was just the beginning of the struggles that my family and I would face. After my stepfather’s death, my mother had to get on the state welfare program just to pay the bills.
Even at a young age, I knew that I wanted to be a writer and own my own company when I grew up. Growing up, my family and I didn't have a lot of money, so life for us was very rough. Yet, despite the fact that I grew up in one of the poorest areas in Nashville, Tennessee, I have always been blessed with a special gift of inspiring others.
Then, when I was nine years old, one of our neighbors asked my mother if she would be willing to babysit her sister’s kid, and of course, my mother agreed. The sister brought her two-month-old son, Bobby over for my mother to take care of for what was supposed to be a couple of days. However, it turned out to be several months. I still cannot understand how a woman can just leave their kid with a total stranger and never even come back to see them or anything.
After several months my mother filed for custody of Bobby, and eventually, custody was granted to my mother. The next few years things were rough, but things got better. Then when I was twelve years old our family was evicted from our home in the projects. As we were moving some of our things to a family homeless shelter a few blocks away, Bobby and I were racing, He was on his tricycle and I was on the big wheel. All of a sudden I hit a very high crack in the sidewalk and flipped about 3-4 times. I sat there for a moment then got up dusted myself off and we continued to the shelter.
That happened on a Friday afternoon, the following Monday morning I woke up and I was paralyzed from my neck to my waist. We didn't have any money, so we walked over 20 miles to the hospital. The doctor took an x-ray and they found that my neck had been broken when I was in the accident that past Friday. They told us that if the bones had moved another millimeter that I could have been paralyzed for life or even killed me. I was immediately admitted into the hospital and the night before I was to have my surgery, something magnificent happened. After the doctors came in and explained the risks of the surgery which was if they slipped even a tiny bit that it could paralyze me or even kill me.
I was scared out of my mind. So, I began praying, I prayed and prayed for hours. Later that night after the nurses changed shifts, the nurse that was assigned to me just happened to attend my church at Born Again. Out of all the nurses that could have been there that night God had sent someone to help me get through this ordeal. She came in and we got down on our knees and prayed together.
Later that night as I was just lying there in the bed staring at the wall when all of the sudden the room lit up, the light was so bright it was blinding, I had to close my eyes just to adjust to the brightness. When I opened them on the same wall I had been staring at for hours appeared a vision. Now I know some people are skeptical and don't believe, but I can testify that what I saw was real.
The vision was like a large movie screen, the top half was bright and heavenly and standing in the mist was Jesus...but it wasn't like the Jesus in all the pictures that society portray him to be. He had very tan skin, black wooly hair and was dressed in a magnificent white robe. Jesus was standing beside a chalkboard that had words written in some Language that I had never seen before. I assume it was the Language that he spoke when he was here on Earth. In his hand, he held a pointer stick, (you know the kind that teacher's used to use), and he was pointing to the words written on the board.
At the bottom of the screen, it was black and dark with Hugh flames reaching way up high. In the middle of the flames there stood Satan. But again he didn't look like the red demonic creature with horns sticking out of his head and pointed teeth that society portrays him to look like. Instead, he was this beautiful being. His beauty was so extraordinary that if I didn't know the word of God, he probably would have fooled me. But as anyone who knows the BIBLE can testify that Satan was at one time the most beautiful angel in Heaven. But due to his sins, he was cast out of Heaven to burn in Hell forever.
Jesus and Satan were having a confrontation about who was going to win my soul. Satan said he wanted my soul, and Jesus told him, "You cannot have her, the Holy Father and I have special plans for her, she is one of the few that are blessed with the spirit of GOD, anointed by the Father's hand personally." I began to cry uncontrollably. Satan turned and looked so deep into my eyes I could feel the burning inside me. As he stared into my soul he spoke to Jesus, and said, "I am going to make her life a living hell, I will put her through so many trials and tribulations that I will break her and she will surrender to my will and leave the Holy Father forever."
Jesus told Satan, "You, may try, but this child is blessed and she WILL OVERCOME ANYTHING that you place into her path, she will NEVER stray away from Her Heavenly Father, for we are within her and she is part of us!" I began to shiver and cry with joy and a feeling of peace, a peace that I had never felt before came over me to the point I raised my hands and began to Praise My Heavenly Father. I closed my eyes and when I opened them...The vision was gone. I knew from that moment on that I was going to have a hard life, but I also knew that no matter what I would overcome any obstacle or adversity that was placed in my path, for my Savior Jesus told me Himself that I would overcome it.
I had to share this testimony so that those people who look at my website or do business with me would understand why I praise God in ALL that I do, for He is the only reason that I live. Now if you do not want to do business with someone who is as honest as that, then it's not meant for me to assist you.
At the age of 13, I had already become a rebellious teenager and had become sexually active. By the time I was 14, I was pregnant with my first child. When I was in my third month of pregnancy I was involved in an accident that resulted in having my neck broken for the second time. Due to the fact that I was only in my first trimester, I had to be placed in a halo neck brace for four months before the doctors could perform the surgery to repair my neck. During my surgery, I lost too much blood and had to receive two pints of blood in a transfusion. I had to continue to wear the halo brace until my seventh month of pregnancy.
However, that wasn’t the end of the adversities that I would face. When I was around my seventh month of pregnancy, a drunk driver had killed my baby’s father, while on his way home from a job in Kentucky. A few weeks later, my family and I were evicted from the home. My mother had been forced to quit her job because I needed her to care for me full-time. We lived on the streets for the remainder of my pregnancy.
Then my most precious memory took place. It was on November 23, 1987, that I gave birth to my one and only daughter, Deondra Mae Snyder, she weighed 6 lbs. 12 oz. I went through 56 hours of labor before she ultimately decided to make her appearance in this world. However, finally at 4:33 pm she was born. She had black curly hair and the most beautiful hazel eyes. After the doctors checked her out, they laid her on my chest. I was so amazed at this little miracle that I was holding in my arms. My nine months of pregnancy had been very hard. I had faced one tragedy after another, but in the end, it was all worth it. I had this beautiful creature that had been living inside me, sheltered from all the tragedies that I had to endure.
Unfortunately, that wasn’t the end of the tragedies that I would have to face. When my daughter was two days old, she became very anemic and was given a blood transfusion. A month later, when I took her for her monthly check-up, I was informed by the doctor that they needed to test my daughter for the HIV virus. I was reluctant to consent to the test. I did not understand why my daughter needed to be tested for HIV. They explained that the hospital had received a batch of blood products that tested positive for the HIV virus. I wanted to make sure my daughter was healthy so I agreed for her to be tested. We had to wait two weeks for the results to come back. It seemed like the longest two weeks of my entire life. Finally, on a Sunday afternoon, we received a call from her doctor stating that we needed to come in the next day to discuss the results.
My heartfelt really heavy, because why would they call on a Sunday afternoon if everything was okay. The next morning we arrived at the doctor’s office and were taken to a room. The doctor came in and sat down, and broke the news that my baby girl had been a recipient of some of the contaminated blood. She had tested positive for the HIV virus. My heart was shattered, why did this have to happen to someone as innocent as my child. I was angry with God, why had He brought me through so many trials and tribulations just to take my daughter from me.
However, we were not going to give up, we continued to fight for 12 years. We had fought a long hard fight until finally her fragile body just couldn’t take anymore. On January 26, 2000, my baby went home to be with Jesus. It was the hardest day of my life. I couldn’t imagine living my life without her. I always believed that children were supposed to outlive their parents. Three weeks before the death of my daughter, my mom died of liver failure, so I was left to deal with this horrible fate alone.
Looking back over my life, I realize that I am a very special and gifted individual. Despite having such a hard life, experiencing many adversities, trials and tribulations, and even death, Yet I always kept a positive attitude and never doubted that I would be able to overcome ANYTHING, that was placed in my path.
My mother once told me that, “I was definitely born with the special gift and talent of writing; because I could write in any genre or niche, making the words come alive, creating a sense that the words were jumping off the page; making you feel as though she were right in front of you talking to you in person and allowing you to feel the emotions behind every story I wrote about.”
It was in the second grade when I was first recognized for my writing abilities after winning first place for an essay in the regional competition at my school. Since then I have been nurturing my talent of writing by keeping a journal, taking different classes and practicing every day. Throughout the years I have taken classes in Creative Writing, Journalism & English Composition and Literature. As the years past, my writing became more developed as I began to outshine and surpass my competition.
In 2010 I began experimenting with different styles of writing; including Poetry, Nonfiction, Fiction, Creative Writing, Journalism and eventually Business Writing. What I soon realized along the way was that I was extremely gifted as a writer, 'A Born Writer' one might say. I have been able to write in any genre or niche with precision and grace.
I graduated Pearl-Cohn Comprehensive High School on June 3, 1993, with a 3.2 GPA, despite the fact that I only received three hours of educational instruction a week from the time I was in the fifth grade through graduation; due to being home-schooled after I was in an accident which resulted in a broken neck. I displayed more determination and ambition than anyone my age; striving for excellence; which was my driving force and motivation to succeed and wanting to prove that I could accomplish anything in life. Even though everyone was telling me that I would not be able to graduate, due to being home-schooled, I was determined to prove them wrong; which I did!
In 1997, I began to pursue my college education at Nashville Tech, where I completed my first semester maintaining a 3.2 GPA. In 1998 one of my poems "The AIDS Prayer" was published in the school's literary journal "The Tetrahedra." That same year I began writing as a contributing author for the school newspaper, "The Falcon." Against tremendous odds, I displayed a wealth of determination, a courageous personality, an ambitious soul and a strong faith in God. I have been able to overcome every obstacle that life placed in my path to achieving my dreams.
In 2011, I began writing as a contributing author for the website, "Searchwarp," where I have published over 70 articles, poems, and essays. Later that same year I began writing for "EzineArticles" and several other websites. In 2012, I had one of my essays, My Passion” published the school's literature magazine "THINK: A Journal of Essays." That same year I won two World Poetry competitions, and was named the "International Who's Who in Poetry of 2012." In addition, I have had a guest post on several blogs and other websites throughout my writing career and have even been a guest speaker on two radio talk shows; Dr. Irene Conlan's "The Self-improvement Show" and Steve Kovacs, "Through Our Eyes."
I have taking several courses in Creative Writing, English Composition, Small Business Management, Office Administration, Graphic Design and Journalism, at various colleges including, Nashville State Community College, Full Sail University, Southern New Hampshire University, The Art Institutes of Pittsburgh, Penn Foster Career School and now I am currently looking to continue my college education at Antioch University. I have written four books;
1) "The Curse of Princess Deondra a Fairytale" which has just been self-published & CreateSpace and is available on CreateSpace and Amazon.
2) "True Inspirations of the Heart" a book of free verse and prose poetry; yet to be published.
3) "Sleeping with the Angels-A Story of Courage" the story of her life, which I hope to have published by the end of 2015, and
4) "The Sky is the Limit—To Achieving Dreams," which is still in the works and is the story of all the adversities and obstacles I have overcome on the path to achieving my dream.
I have been the owner of two other companies, designing my own websites which were:
1) "True Inspirations Writing Professionals," a web-based company that provided writing services to anyone.
2) "DeLicia Jeezes Media Promotions," a web-based company that offered artist of all genres a way of becoming known, showing off their talents.
In addition, my blog, "My-Pathway-To-Heaven.blogspot.com."
I am now 41, and hold two Associates Degrees, One in Small Business Management and One in Office Administration; both of which I received at Nashville State Community College. I am currently working towards a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts Degree in Liberal Studies with an Emphasis in Literature and Creative Writing. In Addition, working on a Diploma in Freelance Writing and Journalism, at PennFoster Career School.
